Boaz residents and those within a 20-mile radius are welcome to get a library card at no charge. Nonresidents may obtain a card for $20 per individual year or $40 per family per year. Everyone must present an updated ID and proof of address and 2 phone references of friends or families (in different households) than can notify you regarding overdue materials in the event that we cannot contact you directly. Children less than 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to obtain a card.

Kids and teens under 18 may get a card. They must have a responsible party (i.e. parent/legal guardian) attached to their card. This requires the responsible party to have their own library card. The responsible party who signs for the child or teen will be held liable for all charges and damages associated with the child's card.
Up to 20 books and audiobooks can be checked out for 14 days with an automatic renewal for 14 more days.
Up to 6 DVDs can be checked out for 7 days with an automatic renewal for 7 more days.
The Username/Barcode is the entire number on the back of your Library card. The password is a 4 digit pin that you chose. If you don't have a pin number or don't remember it, you can call us at 256-593-3000 and a Library staff member can assist you. You can click here to sign in -
The Library offers a convenient book drop for items to be returned before, during or after hours. It is located directly behind the Library under the covered awning.
The Library offers an automatic renewal for two additional weeks past the initial due date. Past this date, it is up to the patron to renew the item by calling us at 256-593-3000 and speak to Library staff. Movies must be renewed in person, not over the phone.
Material requests can be made by contacting the Library at 256-593-3000. You may also make requests by logging into your online Library account. Patrons with materials on hold will be notified by email (if available) or phone and will have 3 days to pick up the item.
Please note: movies cannot be reserved.
Free Wi-Fi is available at the Library. You have to sign-in at the front desk for the Wi-Fi password. You can also log-on to one of the public computers with your Library card. If you do not have a Library card, you must present a picture ID and sign-in as a guest.

The Library has two meeting rooms, the Mastin Conference Center and the Weathers Room.
We are currently updating our rental policies, so we are not renting our rooms at this time. We will post when rentals can be made again soon.

If you have paperbacks, hardbacks, children's books, audiobooks, or DVDs you would like to donate to the library, please bring them to the front desk.
Items we cannot use on our shelves will be placed in our Friends of the Library room to sell. All money made from the Friends of the Library helps fund our children and young adult programs.
Please make sure that all items are in good or working condition.
