The Friends of the Boaz Public Library was founded in 1997 to support the mayor and the library's Board of Directors in raising funds for a new library. The Board of Directors had launched a fundraising drive to build a new library for the residents of Boaz, and the Friends contributed significantly to helping achieve this goal.
The Friends of the Library continues today with the Friends Room, open during library hours with new and gently used books, magazines, movies, etc. at a great price. Items range in price from $0.10 to $2. The Friends also hold other special fundraising events throughout the year such as 1/2-price book sales and a booth at the Harvest Festival. All money goes back to the Library to help fund our programs and activities.
