Curbside Pickup

Great news! The Boaz Public Library is offering curbside pickup of books and other items. Although we are closed to the public, we are staffed and ready to get books, audiobooks, and movies for you while you’re "Safer at Home."

General Guidelines

  • Curbside pickup is available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • You must have a library card in good standing to check out items.
  • A valid library card or ID that matches your library account must be presented for pickup. 
  • Please be aware that we are working with limited staff. We will fill your requests as quickly as possible. Reserves placed on the weekends will take 24 to 48 hours to process. Holds must be placed prior to pick up.
  • All returned items must be put in the bookdrop and will not be check in until after a 72-hour quarantine.
  • Library staff health and safety is a priority, as is the well-being of the patrons and community. Library staff will be wearing gloves and masks and practicing safe social distancing. If you are sick, please stay home.
  • Limits
    • Books and Audiobooks: 20 for a 2-week checkout
    • Movies: 6 for a 1 week checkout

Steps to Reserve & Pick Up Materials

Step 1: Place Items on Hold

  • Items can be reserved online or by phone at 256-593-3000.
  • For online reserves, have you library card number handy. You will also need a password to reserve items.
  • Visit our online catalog. In the upper right-hand corner, click Log On. Enter your 14-digit library card number and password. If you don’t know or have a password, you must call and have us add one to your account.
  • Search for items. The catalog will show if the item is available.
  • Click on the item of interest. 
  • On the right, click reserve.
  • Once your item says successfully reserved, click OK to close the details page.
  • To view your account, click My Items. This will show what books are waiting for pickup and what remains on reserve. you can also see the other items you have out, any fines due, change account information and view your history.

Step 2: Library Staff Will Notify You by Phone or Email When Your Holds Are Ready

  • Make sure you have a valid phone number and email on file. This can be done through the online catalog under My Items - Account.

Step 3: Pick Up Your Items

  • Pickup location is under the breezeway behind the library (near the bookdrops).
  • When you arrive, call us at 256-593-3000.
  • Show staff your library card or ID through the closed vehicle window. Items will not be released to anyone other than the person on the account, unless prearranged with library staff.
  • Your booked will be placed on a table for you to pick up. Please remain in your vehicle until the library staff has safely social distanced.
