WHEREAS, the success and prosperity of this nation and the State of Alabama depends on the quality of education

our youth receive from elementary through high school; and

 

WHEREAS, "Parents—The Link to Success " is the 2007 theme for Parent Visitation Month; and

 

WHEREAS, schools across the state are inviting parents to join as partners with teachers to strengthen student

learning; and this is an opportunity to build partnerships with parents and find new ways to work together throughout

the school year; and

 

WHEREAS, it underscores the fact that it takes more than our schools to educate our students-it takes parents,

families, and the community; and by setting aside a specific month, our city and school system have the perfect

opportunity to strengthen this bond.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Tim Walker, Mayor of Boaz, on behalf of the Council and myself, do hereby proclaim

the month of October as PARENT VISITATION MONTH in Boaz, Alabama and urge parents and community leaders

to go visit our schools and become involved.
