Police Records The Records Division of the Boaz Police Department is located in the upper portion of the Police Administration Building at 101 Line Ave. The office is easily accessible from Line Ave. with parking available across the street in the 1st Baptist Church of Boaz parking lot. The normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office is normally closed on State and Federal holidays. If records are needed on a holiday, please call ahead to see if the Records Office will be open. If you need to obtain a report, you may need to have ready, certain information. Such as: Report #, date that the report was taken, place of occurrence, name, License or Social Security Number of one of the parties involved and/or the reporting officers name. All of these criteria are not required, but the more information you have available, the better. Some records or certain information on any given record may not be public information. In this event, the record might only be released to one of the parties involved or to a designee, or upon court order. If you are receiving a Traffic Accident report, where the accident occurred on a public roadway, you will also receive a form called an SR-13. This form must be completed and sent into the Alabama Department of Public Safety within 30 days from the date of the accident. Failure to do so will result in the suspension of driver's license of the driver of an involved vehicle. This is regardless if the driver is at fault or not. If you are receiving an Incident/Offense report, and are interested in pursuing charges against and offender, the report will need to be taken to the Boaz Municipal Court's Magistrates Office to follow up with the procedures for obtaining warrants.
