Message from Deputy Chief, Todd Adams

Deputy Chief, Todd Adams

Welcome to the Boaz Police Department web site.

I am Deputy Chief Todd Adams.

It is an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Boaz and all those who pass through our community. I believe Boaz is a wonderful place in which to live, work and raise a family.

Since joining the force in 1984, I have seen our Police Department undergo many positive changes. From a department depending on four or five patrol cars to meet the needs of our patrol division, each officer now has his or her own patrol car with which to complete their assigned duties. Each officer is equipped with portable radios and protective vests.

We recently constructed a new jail and dispatch facility that has attracted the attention of other police departments from as far away as Texas, Ohio, Georgia, Mississippi and Florida. An influential factor in law enforcement today is technology. Our department utilizes the CAD [Computer Aided Dispatch] system in our dispatching, wherein radio calls are transmitted, received and recorded via computer, and stored for easy access at a later date. [For example when you come to pick up a copy of a wreck report or incident report.] An on-line finger-scan printing system allows us to more quickly identify an individual who might be wanted elsewhere and is using a fictitious name.

These and other advanced devices and tools, not previously available, now provide capabilities that make the Boaz Police Department and its officers a well-trained and energetic police force, dedicated to its mission to preserve life, and to protect and serve the people of Boaz.

Respectfully,

Deputy Chief Todd Adams
