Captain Jimmy Burke |
Captain
Jimmy Burke
was introduced to the fire service while serving in the US Navy. Upon
completion of his military service, he received his Associates in
Applied Science (Fire Science) Degree, from Snead State Community
College, while employed at Monsanto. Captain Burke began his career with
the Boaz Fire Department as a P.O.C. Firefighter in October of 1984 and
was hired as a full-time Firefighter the following year. While employed
with the Boaz Fire Department, Jimmy has attended many schools and
training courses, including Firefighter I, Firefighter II, EMT Basic,
Defensive Driving, Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC),
Instructor I, Georgia Extrication school, Hazardous Materials
Technician, Leadership & Management, Fire Cause & Determination, Fire
Investigator, WMD Incident Command, Apparatus Operator Pumper, Apparatus
Operator Aerial and National Incident Management System (NIMS). Jimmy
was awarded Boaz Community Civitans Firefighter Of The Year for 2003.
