Captain/paramedic
Ricky Wordlaw began his career as a firefighter as a POC
in 1977 and became a full time firefighter in 1990. His accomplishments
in the 17 yrs of service include: FF I and II, apparatus operator,
aerial operator, instructor I, fire officer I, rescue specialist, LSU
USAR specialist, O.D.P. live agent and ICS training and various other
training courses from Alabama Fire College. Rick is training facilitator
for special operations such as Haz/Mat and Confine Space for Gold Kist
Industries and also serves as Task Force Leader for Marshall Co. Medium
# 7 rescue team. Ricky completed his Paramedic certification in December
of 2006 . He also is employed as an adjunct instructor for LSU FETI.
Rick was awarded Boaz Community Civitans Firefighter Of The Year for
1990 and 1994.
Ricky lives in Southside, Al. and attends the Church at
Bridge-Point where he serves on the personnel board as well as
foreign mission board. Rick is married to Kay Smith Wordlaw and
has 4 children and 6 grandchildren. |
