Lieutenant
Pete Willingham is a 25-year
veteran of the Boaz Fire Department, 19 of those years as a full
time firefighter. Pete started with the fire department as a
P.O.C. paid on call) in 1980 and served in that roll for 6
years. Pete was hired by the City of Boaz as a full time
firefighter on November 26, 1986. In December of the next year
he completed Firefighter I certification, a 360 hour course

that all full-time
firefighters have to pass in order to become a State of Alabama
Certified Firefighter. He has attended several other schools
while with the fire department, obtaining certifications in
Firefighter II, Fire Instructor I, Over the Mountain Haz-Mat
technician, Hazardous Materials A&O, and Fire Officer I.
Pete was awarded Boaz Community Civitans Firefighter Of The Year
for 1999
Pete has been married to his
wife Robin for 29 years. They have two children and one
grandchild.
Pete is an avid woodworker and is currently building a new
woodworking shop to spend time in after his retirement, in a few
years. |
