Firefighter/Paramedic
Michael T. Garmany has been with the Boaz Fire Department since
May of 2005. Prior to his employment for the City of Boaz, he
was employed by the City of Albertville, and the City of Rainbow
City. Michael started his fire service career as a volunteer
with the Town of Douglas in 1994. After graduating from Douglas
High School in 1996, he was hired by |

the City of
Albertville as a full- time Firefighter in March of 1997.Michael
attended Recruit School at the Alabama Fire College in the
spring of 1998.
For the next two years Michael concentrated on pursuing his
certificate as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic.
Michael also achieved his instructor level in Advanced Cardiac
Life Support, Advanced Pediatric Life Support, Basic Trauma Life
Support, CPR, and Pediatric Education for Pre-hospital
Professionals. Michael currently serves as Boaz Fire
Department’s EMS coordinator.
Michael has attended many classes through the Alabama Fire
College, such as Firefighter I and II, Apparatus Operator
Pumper, Apparatus Operator Aerial, Hazardous Materials
Technician, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I and II, Trench
Rescue Technician, and Confined Space Rescue Technician.
Currently Michael is attending the training to become a Rescue
Specialist, to become an asset to Marshall County’s Medium
Rescue Team.
Michael lives in Boaz with his
wife Maegan Rollins Garmany, and has three dogs and one cat.
