
Chief Olen Morrison is a
life long resident of City of Boaz Alabama, attending Snead State
Community College where received a AAS Degree in Fire Science. Chief
Morrison later became a instructor at Snead State College in the field
of Fire Science. In March of 1970, at the age of
16 Chief Morrison joined the Boaz Fire Department as a volunteer. In
November of 1977 Olen became a full time firefighter for The City Of
Boaz. He attended Firefighter I state certification school at Scottsboro
Fire Academy. Since that time Chief Morrison's career has led him into
various other fields in the fire service. He has became a Instructor for
The Alabama State Fire College in Tuscaloosa Alabama. In 1992 he became
the city's first Fire Marshal and attended Police Academy at
Jacksonville State University in November of that same year. Olen became
the city's 4th full-time Fire Chief in July of 2000. Chief Morrison also
serves on several boards and committees. Olen formerly served 3 terms
on the Marshall County 911 Board. Other organizations include Member or
Alabama Association of Arson Investigators (A.A.A.I.), Alabama Fire
Chiefs Association, International Association Of Fire Chiefs (I.A.F.C.)
and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Olen also serves on
the Board Of Directors of the Marshall County Bowlers Association. |
