Recreation Center and pool holiday hours: Rec Center - Thursday, July 2: 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (closed 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for a private event);
Friday, July 3 & Saturday, July 4: CLOSED. Pool: Thursday, July 2 & Friday, July 3: 12:00 noon-5:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 4: CLOSED. Sunday, July 5: 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
Beginning swim lessons will be offered at the Boaz Recreation Center pool this summer. The second session will be July 6-9
and July 13-16 from 10:30-11:25. The cost is $40 per child. The qualifications needed for this class is that the child must
be at least 4 years old and semi-comfortable in the water. To register, contact there center during office hours (M-F, 7:00-3:30).
Friday, May 1 will be there first day persons can call and reserve the Boaz Recreation Center pool for summer parties.
Call 256-593-9944 between 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday to make reservations. The pool will be available for rent on
Friday's and Saturday's from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. The pool will also be available for rent on the following weeknights -
Thursday, June 4; Thursday, June 11; Tuesday, June 16 and Tuesday, June 23. The rental fee (to be paid for at least two weeks in advance)
is $50 for the two-hour rental. On the day of the party you will pay two lifeguards $25 each, for a party with less than 40 persons swimming. For more
than 40 persons swimming, a third lifeguard will be required at another $25. Food and drink may be brought in to the pool deck but no glass or alcoholic
beverages allowed. Churches may rentfor the pool church functions on Wednesday nights. Call the number above for more information and cost.
The pool will open for public swimming on Tuesday, May 26. Pool hours are Monday-Friday 12:00 noon-5:00 p.m.; Saturday's 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Sunday's
1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. The pool will close at 3:00 p.m. on days of home swim meets (June 2, 9, 25 & 30) and will be closed June 18-20 for the Marshall County Swim Meet.
Daily admission fee is $3.00. Age 6 & under is free. Season passes may be bought beginning May 26 in the Recreation Center office. Cost for season pass will be $40 for an
individual and $100 for a family.
A reminder to anyone wishing to use one of the pavilions next to the Rec Center. You MUST go through the proper procedure and rent the pavilion by
1) calling or coming by and reserving your date and time. 2) then you must pay in advance $25 for 4 hours rental of the pavilion. If you don't go through the
proper channels and you just show up to have a party and someone shows up who has properly rented and paid for use, you will be asked to leave and
your party will be over. You can call or come by to reserve your date and time anytime during office hours which is 7:00-3:30 Monday thru Friday.
The Mountainboro Community Center is available for rent. The cost is $50 for an eight-hour rental (to be paid for in advanced) plus a $50 key deposit when the key is picked up
on the day before the desired date. The key deposit will be refunded when the key is returned. The community center has tables and chairs for 40 people, a small kitchenette with
stove, refrigerator, microwave, sink and private bathroom. There is also a fenced-in back yard with small pavilion with a fire pit and several picnic tables.
